Parliamentary Planning criticizes the slowdown in the application of “automation”

The Strategic Planning and Federal Service Committee criticized a number of government institutions due to the slowdown in implementing the automation system, which is considered one of the reform measures to reduce corruption.
This criticism comes despite the fact that government financial institutions and a number of ministries began implementing this system gradually four years ago, to keep pace with global development.
The head of the committee, Laila Al-Tamimi, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: There is no real trend towards digitization or automation, and we have not reached a real understanding of it, explaining that our departments lack this comprehensive concept and we are still in the elementary concepts of automation, such that we still rely on paper mail.
