Today, Wednesday, Minister of Industry Khaled Battal announced the imminent signing of a new contract related to the solar energy system, while indicating the formation of a ministerial team to support the Ministry of Electricity in preparation for next summer.
Battal said in a speech during his visit to Al-Zawraa General Company, followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “today we visited Al-Zawraa General Company, which specializes in electricity matters, including examining power transformers and electricity transmission lines,” indicating that “the company has advanced infrastructure and equipment and has a contract with Siemens.” The contract was stopped in 2019, and now we have directed to reactivate the contract to communicate with the company and other concerned companies.”
He added, "The company has a problem marketing its products and obtaining contracts, whether from state ministries or the private sector," pointing out, "We held a meeting with the company's board of directors and directed us to market the company's production to the private sector and the relevant ministries, which are oil and electricity."
He stressed, "We will work on some problems in the near future," expecting that "During the next two years, Al-Zawraa Company will approach profitability, if not become profitable."
He continued, "There is the Challenge website, which specializes in the manufacture of solar energy panels, as the trend towards clean energy is known, and there are contracts signed by the Ministry of Electricity to produce energy up to 7,000 megawatts, and other contracts signed up to 2,000 megawatts or more, which require solar energy generation cells." He explained that "the company contains a solar energy system of its own manufacture."
He stressed that "there is a contract in the process of being signed that was announced at the Basra Forum held at the beginning of last month, and there are accelerating steps to sign this contract soon," pointing out that "there is a problem in one of the factories of the Al-Mansour site regarding its connection with the General Company for Food Industries or the Al-Zawraa Company." "And we will work to solve it."
He stressed that "Al-Zawraa Company is one of the companies that can develop in the coming period," explaining that "a team has been formed from the Ministry, Al-Zawraa Company, other related companies, and Diyala Electrical Industries companies, with a national effort to support the Ministry of Electricity in preparing for next summer by repairing stations and generators, in addition to To provide other details in the production and distribution sector.”
He stated, "This team will be ready in the coming period to support the Ministry of Electricity and be under its command."
