Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed that the work of implementing the infrastructure of the new Sadr City be referred during this month.
This came during his chairmanship this morning of the sixth meeting of the New Sadr City project, as announced by the Sudanese Media Office in a statement.
The Prime Minister announced, during the meeting, that the main infrastructure works for the entire project will be transferred to implementation during the current month, and will be implemented in three phases, with specialized international companies being nominated to begin implementing the first phase of residential unit construction work.
During the meeting, Al-Sudani followed up on the results of soil tests, the requirements of which he had directed to be completed in previous meetings, to ensure the safety of work and the start of the construction process. His Excellency also followed up on the implementation of previous directives regarding procedures for transferring ownership of lands designated for construction.
Al-Sudani pointed out that the New Sadr City project is the most important in the capital, Baghdad, and the government has adopted its implementation, along with the five new cities, as part of its strategic plans to address the housing crisis and create a qualitative shift in urban housing in Iraq.
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the implementation of the power station that will supply neighborhoods, residential complexes and urban areas in New Sadr City, according to the government statement.
