    A statement from the Investigations Department of the Authority, received by Al-Sumaria News, stated that “The Diyala Criminal Court/First Authority issued a decision to impose a present sentence of severe imprisonment for two years on the former director of the Agricultural Bank - Habhab branch, for embezzling the amount of (12,500,000) million dinars that was paid from one of the authorities.” farmers who obtained it for the purpose of purchasing wheat crops, indicating that the accused delivered a receipt with his signature and stamp, and after that it became clear that the accused did not enter the amount into the bank account, and appropriated it for his personal benefit.”



    She added, “The same court issued a one-year imprisonment ruling in the presence of the former director of the Agricultural Bank in Baladruz, for having embezzled loan installments in the amount of (32,000,000) million dinars, pointing out that the bank continues to deduct amounts from the sponsors’ salaries, despite paying the full amount and providing... The borrower was released from liability, noting that the installment amount amounting to (5,550,000) million dinars was not deposited in the state treasury, and that the accused embezzled it for her own benefit.”

    She confirmed that “the court, after reviewing the evidence obtained in the two cases represented by the statements of the bank’s legal representative, the confession of the accused, and the receipts document signed by them, the court issued two conviction decisions, based on the provisions of Article (316) of the Penal Code, obligating them to pay the embezzled amounts to the bank, and giving the right To the affected party, to demand compensation when the decision becomes final.”
