    [size=45]Officials in Basra confirm that the recent transformation of the Khor al-Zubair area into a district could push work on establishing large residential neighborhoods consisting of 9,000 plots of land, which belonged to three major factories, and the work on which could be undertaken by the “Al-Narjis” Company, which is implementing giant projects in the governorate.[/size]

    [size=45]The Southern Star area is a district in Khor Al-Zubair, west of Basra. It was distributed as plots of land to employees of the Ministry of Industry in 1993. Farmers encroached on those lands, built residential houses and established farms there.[/size]
    [size=45]The Zubair Municipality removed the encroachments in 2022, and opened 4 streets linking Khor Al-Zubair and the Southern Star District, dividing it into 7 districts, and containing 9,000 plots of land, which belonged to major factories such as fertilisers, iron, steel, and petrochemicals.[/size]

    [size=45]We held a meeting with the relevant departments to solve the problem of sorting the area, and work will continue after a delay of years.[/size]
    [size=45]The lands of the Southern Star will provide new neighborhoods for the residents of the district and employees with the establishment of infrastructure.[/size]
    [size=45]We will work to sort these lands according to numbers and coordinates after they have been completely surveyed by specialists as a first step.[/size]
    [size=45]The next step will be to address the local government to establish an integrated residential city in order to expand the boundaries of Khor Al-Zubair district.[/size]

    [size=45]The sectoral maps were completed, the coordinates were fixed on the aerial map, the main landmark points on the lands were removed, and the random and random houses close to the area were removed.[/size]
