Countries that fight corruption best.
The Corruption Perceptions Index ranked 180 countries and territories by their levels of public sector corruption on a scale from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (highly honest).
Denmark (90) topped the list of countries on the index for the sixth year in a row, in terms of integrity, followed by Finland and New Zealand with scores of 87 and 85, respectively.
These countries are also among the best countries on the rule of law index, due to their well-functioning justice systems, according to the organization.
“Highly corrupt” countries.
According to the index, Somalia (11), Venezuela (13), Syria (13), South Sudan (13), and Yemen (16) occupied the last places, as the organization pointed out that these countries are affected by long-term crises due to Mostly due to armed conflicts.
On the other hand, 23 countries scored, including some high-ranking democracies - such as Iceland (72), the Netherlands (79), Sweden (82) and the United Kingdom (71) - as well as some authoritarian states - such as Iran (24), Russia (26) and Tajikistan.
