    [rtl]Officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Environment held a meeting with experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss a number of issues.[/rtl]


    [rtl]The Ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Eqtisad News that the Director General of the Radiation Protection Center in the Ministry of Environment, Sabah Al-Husseini, met with experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency, in the presence of representatives of the national regulatory and executive bodies concerned with managing this file, pointing out that “during the meeting, Agreement to strengthen and support national capabilities in the field of developing capabilities to manage, treat and dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with the latest international technologies, and to liquidate Iraqi nuclear facilities.[/rtl]


    [rtl]The meeting also included an emphasis on the importance of building national capabilities and enabling them to address this important and vital file through technical cooperation programs with the International Atomic Energy Agency, according to the statement.[/rtl]


    [rtl]Masoud Malik, head of technical cooperation programs for the Republic of Iraq at the International Atomic Energy Agency, and experts Rebecca Ann, Viadan Ljubenov and Timothy Milner, stressed the need to harness international capabilities to support Iraq in this field.[/rtl]
