Today, Monday (March 25, 2024), Member of Parliament Ahmed Al-Musawi confirmed that the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers rejected the return of the former governor of Diyala to caretaker duties.
Al-Moussawi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "Based on an official letter that we sent to the legal department in the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers regarding the return of Diyala Council member Muthanna Al-Tamimi to the position of caretaker governor due to the clear legal violations it contains, and we obtained an official answer."
He added, "The answer in the General Secretariat's response is to reject the return of the former governor to his position and to return the management of the position of Diyala governor to the first deputy until an actual governor is elected."
The former governor of Diyala and member of the Provincial Council, Muthanna Al-Tamimi, issued an administrative order appointing him as governor of Diyala to “manage daily matters,” based on a letter from the Legal Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
