spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, confirmed that Iraqi companies are not competent to rely on in the file of conducting the population census.
Al-Hindawi said, in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, that “the Ministry of Planning has been working for two years to conduct a population census in the country in order to know the distribution of natural resources among the people of the country without injustice and bias towards one component or sect at the expense of another sect or component.”
He added, "The population census this time will be carried out on electronic foundations and standards and not like its predecessors, which were paper-based. Therefore, we need specialized international companies to carry out this task, noting that Iraq does not have any competent company to conduct the file of conducting the population census."
He pointed out that "there are developed countries that have capabilities many times higher than Iraq and have faced problems in the population census file, pointing out that the population census needs an excellent company to manage this file."
