Barham Salih, Iraq is towards fragmentation and division has to resort to request a referendum
Published in: 10:48, April 7, 2013 by jamal

BAGHDAD (Iba) .. Warned Barham Salih, Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan of Iraq is towards fragmentation and division if not forestall the political forces of the current crisis, and the political leadership in Kurdistan if existent means available to them to resolve the existing differences between Kurdistan and Baghdad, may resort to request a referendum. For his part, Head of the Office of the Presidency of Kurdistan, Fouad Hussein, that the Kurdish leadership Geert Shiite alliance delegation which recently visited between divorce and partnership.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the National Union led by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani held talks in Turkey, where he arrived on a surprise visit, with Turkish President Abdullah Gul focused on the developments of the political situation in Iraq, and the repercussions of the crisis which has worsened recently and is now threatening the political process.

A statement by the location of the Kurdistan Regional Government Talga and independent press (Iba) ... that Saleh said after talks with Turkish President. A statement issued by the Information Office of the National Union Gul welcomed the steady progress made in the relationship between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region, calling for cementing all aspects that serve the interests of both parties.

Saleh said that after ten years of the fall of Saddam's regime, still the situation in Iraq crisis and serious concern, that violates the Constitution, and the agreements are not implemented, and instead of dragging the Kurds in Iraq are paying today pushed to the outside.

He added: If Iraqi leaders did not put a specific program to address the problems and crises in Iraq during the second decade of the fall of the former regime, Iraq is moving towards fragmentation and division, and there is a possibility that resort Kurds in Iraq forced to request a referendum to determine the position.

And Saleh stressed that the political leadership in Kurdistan were eager in the past and will be keen today to build a democratic Iraq federal, and made several initiatives in order to achieve this, and will remain committed to the option of democracy and rational dialogue to address the problems in line, but you may have in the absence of prospects for political solutions to the options other.

Saleh did not specify whether the destination is a referendum similar to what happened in South Sudan under international supervision to self-determination, or that the call does not include separation from Iraq. "

In connection with Fouad Hussein, head of the Presidium of the region and asked about the position of leadership of the region to invite Saleh said in a statement singled out the Middle East: I do not know the purpose of Brother Barham from hinting a referendum, whether intended holding a national referendum for self-determination and secession from Iraq, or that his intention otherwise, but on the whole, the President Massoud Barzani have already put on several occasions, most recently Nowruz past the idea of resorting to the people through a referendum to take his mind about the course of the crisis and the situation to be taken to deal with it, and of course will be a referendum put forward several options in front of people, and whether he wants to communicate with the crisis or get out of them, whether we continue the dialogue with Baghdad, or Ndjemdh, and of course there may be a question about declaration of secession, Valastftaat good mechanism to engage people decisions big, so I do not mind resorting to people in such cases the complexity of crises country, and especially the current crisis which is now threatening the entire political process in Iraq.

The chairman of the court that during our discussions with the government delegation and the National Alliance who visited us recently we raised them two options only two, either divorce or partnership, and we told them we want partnership and look forward to it, and they said we also want partnership, Aftabannahm clarify their position and their vision and their perception of this partnership, either share and live according to the constitution on the basis of rights and duties contained the constitution, and if you do not accept that we will return to our people to decide their fate, and confirmed that our choice is coexistence and partnership with ensuring our rights, and wait for them the final answer and the light will decide our next steps.
