Sadr: Mosul Will Be liberated By The Iraqi Army Exclusively

The cleric Muqtada al-Sadr confirmed the integration of the popular defense forces with the Iraqi army, “to be most powerful army to achieve victory after the army sent a message to the world that can achieve victories.”
He, during a news conference with Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, who made an unannounced visit to Najaf today, confirmed “his willingness to cooperate to support the Iraqi army, logistically, morally, and media from all sides”, reiterated support for what he described as heroic force of the popular defense forces.
Sadr criticized the “US occupation” and its intervention in Mosul file, saying: “The occupation is not a spokesman for the presidency or any one, because Mosul will be liberated by the Iraqi army exclusively.”
For his part, al-Obeidi appreciated Sadr’s unlimited support to the army and his follow-up to the work of the ministry, through the parliamentary committee on defense and security.
In response to a question by the reporter of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / on the fence of Baghdad, the minister said: “We explained to Sadr many observations in this regard in addition to the numerous explanations related to the work of ministry’s files.”
Obeidi was accompanied in his visit to Najaf, the commander of the Air Force and chairman of the parliamentary committee on defense and security, and the spokesman of the Defense Ministry. / End
