    Baghdad-the citizen

Former Transport Minister Amer Abduljabbar Ismail engineer:

    Voices
were raised recently about the economic risks that it will face Iraq at
Al-Walid, Trebil, who closed the show we saw economic exchange away
from political dimensions in relation to all land ports without
    exception.

In all countries of the world prefer to use sea and
air ports to the detriment of land ports except the port operational
energy or transport goods to and from neighboring countries away from
port and not through them to or from other countries.

    This is
because the income received through land ports is determined by Customs
and as merchandise through ports will move in addition to customs duty
paid ship returns and pay and benefits in addition to maritime agencies
providing employment for workers loading and unloading in ports and jobs
for Iraqi truck drivers at the expense of trucks from neighboring
    countries.

Note that port revenues do not go to the local
administrations in the provinces and the Federal Government except for
customized budget law and irreplaceable to provinces by the Government
and that they are not considered especially if there are security risks
or political set by relevant authorities
