Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Sunday that the lack of planning behind the wasted billions of dollars in the country's second-largest oil producer in the world.

Iraq ranks 161 out of 168 on the corruption index of Transparency International is rampant corruption in state institutions and mismanagement, the most prominent challenge facing Iraqis since the fall of the former regime 13 years ago.

Ebadi said in a speech at an energy forum held in Baghdad and Kurdistan broadcast live on 24, "The corruption is not less dangerous than terrorism and its confrontation with terrorism and liberate territory did not prevent us from the direction of reform in the economy and the rest of the institutions."

He added that "billions of dollars previously lost due to the loss of planning."

Abadi said that his government, which has developed a program of reform, "is moving toward building a strong Iraqi economy for the advancement of the country and not rely on a single source."

Iraq relies by up to more than 90 percent on oil imports to finance its projects and spending his employees' salaries.

Ebadi said, "we seek to take advantage of every barrel of oil to serve the citizen and the development of the country and from every gas flame was wasted 90 years ago where we have the first time to benefit from this gas."

"The state perceives it evolves alone is wrong and the state that they think that they will be far away from terrorism in isolation from the region also Vaatqadha the wrong belief."

He said, "embarking on a new phase of the country will advance to the Imam", calling on the audience in the energy forum to supplement the government with more ideas to develop their investment plans.

Reports indicate that accumulated on the size of Iraq's debt exceeded $ 100 billion for many reasons, most notably the amount of impact on the country's public debt as a result of the collapse of oil prices to unprecedented levels and the cost of the war against al-Daesh as well as debt inherited from the era of the former regime.
