    A devastating US collision with a Philippine-flagged merchant vessel near the Japanese coast resulted in the injury of three crew members. Earlier, Japanese media reported the loss of seven sailors.
    The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 17, southwest of the Japanese city of Yokosuka, about 20 km from the coast, at 2:30 pm (local time).
