Putin attacked Washington: Assad's future is determined by the Syrian people
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a news conference at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, said that the future of Syria and President al-Assad is determined by the Syrian people and not the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
Putin stressed that the US stance towards Syria has not changed, but has become more pragmatic, adding that the decision on reducing the escalation in southern Syria, including the areas taken thanks to the United States.
He reached a good understanding on the cease-fire south-west of Syria, to which Jordan and Israel, stressing that it is necessary to secure the unity of the Syrian territory.
He added that it is essential that these regions cooperate among themselves and with the central government in Damascus, to be subsequently reached a comprehensive settlement in Syria.
Putin stressed that Russia has contacts with many of the Kurdish factions in Syria, pointing at the same time that the United States in the same regard, more advanced from the standpoint of armament.
