    Revealed the Ministry of Planning, on Sunday, the high proportion of the male population to 51% compared to 49% of females, pointing to a decline in the proportion of population growth in Iraq to 2.5%. "

    The official spokesman for the Ministry of Planning Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi said in a statement received «Journal News» "The population estimates for the year 2016 indicate an increase in the proportion of the male population to 51% compared to the number of females, which fell to 49%."

    "The Central Bureau of Statistics is now working on the preparation of development vision for the future population of Iraq in light of the proportions of the annual increase of the population," noting that "the team formed for this purpose has held a consultative meeting chaired by Zia Awad, head of the Central Bureau of Statistics."

    The official spokesman pointed to a decline in the proportion of population growth in Iraq to 2.5% after it was 2.9% last year.
