The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed to the Iranian party its intention to continue to fulfill its obligations under the joint comprehensive action plan agreed between Tehran and the Group 5 + 1.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday that his country would hold talks with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Arajiqi.
A statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry that officials exchanged during the meeting the views of the parties detailed on the settlement of the situation on the nuclear agreement, in light of threats by US President Donald Trump to refrain from stressing to the Congress Tehran's adherence to the comprehensive joint action plan.
During the meeting, Ryabkov and Araji discussed the coordination of the next steps in order to maintain the nuclear agreement and for the development of bilateral cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, and discussed other urgent issues of common interest, the statement said.
