"The time has come for the Security Council to move," US Ambassador to the United Nations Nicky Healy said after a report by UN experts confirmed Iran's violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 by banning weapons to Yemen.
"This report sheds light on what we have been saying for months that Iran is transporting illegal weapons to Yemen in clear violation of many Security Council resolutions," he said.
"The United States will continue to condemn the dangerous actions of Iran," the statement said. "The world can not continue to ignore the response to these flagrant violations."
"Iran must know that disobedience to the international community has its consequences, noting that it is time for the Security Council to do its work."
