joined some other European countries in banning cloth covering the face, such as niqab or burqa. Danish parliamentarians voted 75 to 30, with 74 abstentions, on Thursday over the law submitted by the country's ruling center-right coalition.
The government said the law did not target any religion, and it did not ban traditional headscarves, turbans or headscarves.
The law, however, is known as the "burqa ban" law, and is often seen as directed at the dress worn by some Muslim women.
