    Today, the European Parliament in Brussels and the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights organized an international conference entitled "Iran's Role in a Troubled Middle East - Towards a New European Position on Iran" at the Parliament building in the Belgian capital.
     
    The conference follows the fallout of US President Donald Trump's withdrawal from Iran's nuclear deal in May and the imposition of new sanctions on Tehran by the United States, with the aim of crystallizing a new European position on Iran. 

    The conference was moderated by General Marc Otte, the Special Envoy of Belgium to Syria and the Middle East, the official advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Including a number of politicians, researchers and experts on the Iranian issue in the European Union and NATO, including Tony Kellam, member of the European Parliament for the European People's Party, a member of the Committee on Foreign Policy and the Committee on Security and Defense in the European Parliament. And Ramzan Abu Jazar, director of the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights and an expert on European affairs.
     
    The President of the Institute for the Future and Security in Europe, the Chief Engineer for Studies and Armament Techniques Emmanuel Dubu, the Director of the NATO Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Ethan Corbin, the Secretary General of the Ahwazi Democratic Party, Jalil Sharhani, the Permanent Representative of France to the European Commission for Security and Politics "Nicolas Soran". 

    The participants in the conference discussed Iran's excesses and its role in proxy wars in the Middle East through direct intervention in all its forms in the affairs of neighboring countries and working to destabilize and dominate their decisions. They also called for a united European position to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon that threatens the security of neighboring countries and international peace and security, as well as to examine human rights issues and a number of thorny internal issues in Iran.

    The symposium also warned of Iran's illegal nuclear ambitions and highlighted the negative effects of Iranian interference in Arab affairs by supporting the Houthis in particular and their military intervention in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon. The intellectual policy forum provided decision-makers with a comprehensive vision of how to deal with Iranian interference in Arab affairs.
