Diplomatic sources confirmed that the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Thursday for urgent consultations on the Arab aggression led by Saudi Arabia on the port of Hodeidah Yemeni controlled by the Houthis.
"The meeting will be held at 4 pm GMT at the request of Britain, and will be the second meeting of the Security Council this week on the latest developments in the Yemeni crisis.
For her part, British Permanent Representative to the Security Council, Karis Pearce, told reporters before the start of the meeting that the consultations will be held behind closed doors, where members of the Council would like to get to the details of what is happening in the region that is experiencing military operations.
The British diplomacy indicated that information was received about the Houthi mines of the strategic port, calling on all parties to return to the process of political settlement.
British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson stressed in a statement that the military operation, led by forces loyal to the internationally recognized government of Yemen and the Arab aggression led by Saudi Arabia, should not affect the flow of goods and aid through the strategic port overlooking the Red Sea.
The dean of British diplomacy described the continued flow of food supplies, fuel and medical supplies to Yemen as vital.
