    German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday that her country will not participate in the reconstruction process in Iraq and Syria unless a political solution to the political and security crises in the two countries is achieved and stability returns to them.
    Merkel said during a meeting with students of the German-Jordanian University, in response to a question on the German role in reconstruction in Iraq and Syria, "German efforts at this stage focused only on providing humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced persons, and that Germany will not participate in the reconstruction process unless A political solution to the political and security crises in the two countries and the return of stability to them. "
    On the Syrian crisis, Merkel stressed the German position on the need to find a political solution to this crisis, which is accepted by the Syrian people in its political and religious aspects and components, calling for "the rewriting of the Syrian constitution to establish a political life that guarantees the rights of all components of the Syrian people."
    "Germany continues its efforts with the international community and all influential countries in the Syrian arena to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and to ensure the return of all refugees and displaced Syrians to their country and preserve their rights."
    During her visit to Jordan, Merkel met with the Jordanian monarch, where extensive discussions were held, in addition to meeting with students of the German-Jordanian University.
    She will also meet the German military adviser at the German air base in the Blue Zone, Jordan.
