US President Donald Trump, his predecessor, Barack Obama, has attacked the former president, accusing him of giving 2.5 thousand Iranian citizenship.

"It has just been shown that during the negotiations on the horrendous nuclear deal, the Obama administration gave 2.5 thousand Iranians, including government officials, American citizenship," Trump said in a tweet published on his Twitter account.

The administration of former US President Barack Obama has granted US citizenship to 2,500 Iranians, including family members of government officials, while negotiating the Iranian nuclear deal, said a senior cleric and a member of parliament.

Mojtaba Zolnor, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Commission and a member of the National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, said in an interview with the newspaper "E'tamad", quoting the Fars news agency.
