    (Encyclopedia of this Day News | Iraq News ) - The US Justice Department has announced a policy to warn citizens of theelectronic penetration of foreign operations such as e - Russian campaign infiltration and disinformation alleged during the US presidential election in 2016.

    The US government hesitates to announce such foreign operations, fearing that its disclosure would upset the balance in any election.

    A warning from American public opinion about misinformation can help reduce damage and allow people to make informed decisions based on better information, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on Thursday, announcing the new policy.

    "The disclosure of plans to the masses is an important way to neutralize it .. 

    The American people have the right to know whether foreign governments are targeting him with propaganda."

    There was controversy this week over the failure of President Donald Trump to openly confront his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over Moscow's intervention in the 2016 election during their meeting in Helsinki.

    The policy, announced by Rosenstein, comes in a report issued by an Internet and digital technology team of the Ministry of Justice, which was set up in February.

    The report provides guidance to the ministry on when public, private groups and companies should be informed of covert attacks.

    Rosenstein pointed out that the ministry's ability to detect foreign operations could be hampered by concerns about the protection of information sources and access.
