More than 100 huge fire in the United States
) - Six major fires have erupted in the United States , leading to more than 100 huge fires across the country , the authorities said Sunday.
Authorities expected more fires at the weekend because lightning strikes hit drylands.
It announced the National Center for inter - agency coordination, more than 30 thousand people , including firefighters from all over the United States and about 140 from Australia and New Zealand , are fighting these fires that destroyed more than 1.6 million acres.
"We expect more new fires," Jeremy Grams, chief meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Meteorological Forecasting Center in Oklahoma , said in an interview on Saturday.
He added that places in the Rocky Mountains are expected to have dry thunderstorms that lead to lightning lightning with little rain, while the northwest of the United States is facing serious climatic conditions for fires including strong winds and low relative humidity.
Firefighters faced another day of very high temperatures and strong winds on Saturday, the National Inter-Agency Coordination Center said.
The fires swept through states from Washington , New Mexico, and California, the worst-hit nation.
