The Financial Times published an editorial in which it discussed the sanctions imposed by US President Donald Trump on Iran and its effectiveness.

The paper says US sanctions are hurting Iran but will not lead to change in the country.

The Financial Times applauds the Europeans' adherence to the nuclear deal with Tehran.

Despite Trump's pledge to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero, his administration has announced six-month exceptions to several countries including China, India, Japan and South Korea for the import of Iranian oil. Together, Iran's oil exports reached 2.7 million bpd in May, May.

This is evidence, according to the newspaper, that Trump is afraid of rising oil prices.

She adds that Iranian President Hassan Rowhani has begun to regain the confidence that has been shaken by the summer crisis. It has been weak for months, with the expectation that militants opposed to the nuclear deal with the superpowers will seize the opportunity to weaken it further.

But Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called on all currents to have spiritual support in order to maintain the nuclear agreement. The Iranian president also benefited from the position of the European countries, which are adhering to the agreement in the face of the American withdrawal.

The European position on the nuclear deal should not "forget" the need for the Iranian regime to abandon the "evil role it plays in the Middle East from Syria to Iraq."

She added that despite Trump's claims that he had scrapped the Iranian regime, there was no sign of a change in his behavior in the region.

The newspaper says Trump is not the only one who wants to get rid of the activities of the Iranian criminal regime, but canceling an agreement that succeeded in reducing Iran's nuclear program is not the appropriate response.

The recent sanctions, according to the Financial Times, will hit the economy but the pain will be borne by ordinary Iranians, most of whom do not like the country's leaders.

These sanctions have caused a rift between the United States and its European allies, while the world should work in unity for change in Iran.
