Saudi king stresses Iraq's keenness on unity of Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - President Barham Salih on Sunday stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen relations with Saudi Arabia and all neighboring countries, while Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz said his country is keen to unite Iraq.
"President Barham Saleh met on Sunday on the sidelines of the Arab-European summit, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz," Saleh's office said in a statement. "The two sides exchanged views on several issues and developments on the Arab and international levels. ".
Saleh stressed during the meeting, "Iraq's keenness to strengthen relations with the Kingdom and all neighboring countries in order to serve the common interests," stressing that "Iraq adopted a policy of openness to the Arab and regional environment, and his earnest desire to promote and consolidate the foundations of peace and stability in the region and ease the tensions and crises on both sides Arab and regional. "
In turn, the Saudi king stressed "his country's keenness on the unity of Iraq," again "the Kingdom's stand on the side of Iraq in its response to the terrorist gangs."
"We hope to expand cooperation in all fields to serve the two brotherly peoples," he said
