Security and Defense Committee in the House of Representatives on its efforts to activate and pass the law of compulsory recruitment during the next phase.
According to the semi-official Al-Sabah newspaper, member of the committee, Abdul-Khaliq al-Azzawi, said, `` Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief Adel Abdul-Mahdi expressed his readiness to study the issue of activating compulsory recruitment under certain conditions, after being raised by the committee to discuss its intention to implement it during the next phase. ''
Al-Azzawi added, `` One of the most important features of this law is the commitment to the age requirement, and there may be room to pay (cash alternatives) in exchange for the completion of the mandatory service that will provide a very large revenue to the Ministry of Defense can support in the development and advancement of the Iraqi army, armament and others. '' A43
