The General Company for Iraqi Ports announced that it had scheduled the demands of the demonstrators who closed Umm Qasr Port earlier, in order to achieve them in cooperation with the local government and security authorities.
The company’s director, Safaa Abdel-Hussein, said: “Some of the demands were implemented and the other is in the process of implementation.”
Protesters on October 5, 2019, blocked the roads leading to Umm Qasr port, south of Basra, as part of popular protests and demands.
