Presidency of the Republic clarified, on Tuesday, the truth of a statement attributed to President Barham Salih, in which he announced Iraq's readiness to sign a peace agreement with the Israeli entity.
A spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic said, in a presidential statement, of which Mawazine News received a copy, that "Media outlets and social media pages circulated a fabricated statement attributed to the President of the Republic stating that Iraq is ready to sign a peace agreement with Israel in coordination with the Palestinians."
The statement added, "We confirm that what is being circulated is absolutely incorrect, and that the statement is fabricated." Ended 6/29 N
