    Today, Thursday, Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Negm set the goals of forming a private sector board of directors, while calling on representatives of the private sector to give this council special attention.
    The media office of the ministry said in a statement that "the temporary council for the management of the private sector held its second meeting today, headed by Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm, in the presence of representatives of federations and trade unions and a number of businessmen and women, as well as representatives of government agencies."
    The minister stressed during the meeting, "The formation of the private sector board of directors is the first step on the right path, towards giving the private sector leadership and pioneering development in Iraq," noting that "the role of this council will be temporary, until the permanent council is formed, after preparing all Legislative, legal and administrative requirements. ”
    He added that "the existence of a free market in Iraq requires the presence of a private sector, possessing sufficient capacity and flexibility, to manage this market, in accordance with the development policies set by the government," noting that "the work of the private sector board of directors will be linked to the Ministerial Economic Council, and this will contribute to drawing Integrated economic policies.
    The Minister of Planning asserted that “the private sector board of directors aims to enhance the opportunities of companies and business establishments in obtaining financing, as well as strengthening the role of supervisory authorities in implementing quality standards and granting licenses, in addition to supervising the management and implementation of the private sector development strategy, and coordination with development organizations and agencies. International, and adopting programs for the development and protection of small and medium enterprises, ”calling on“ representatives of the private sector, to give this council special attention, and consider it the first priority within their interests, because it represents the most important window, to achieve true partnership with the public sector. ”
    The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Planning and the Director General of Economic and Financial Policies in the Ministry, discussed the mechanism of work of the temporary council for the development of the private sector, while representatives of unions and organizations presented a number of papers, ideas and proposals related to the work of this council, and the meeting also discussed the financial aspects of the council.
