Shafaq News/ "Reuters" news agency quoted a senior official in the Basra Oil Company as saying that Iraq is studying a proposal submitted by the American company Halliburton for oil services, in order to buy ExxonMobil's share in the West Qurna 1 field located in southern Iraq.
Hassan Muhammad, Assistant Director-General of the Basra Oil Company, said that "Halliburton submitted a proposal aimed at the possibility of buying ExxonMobil's share, and in fact, it is an option available to the Basra Oil Company to consider after settling the situation with ExxonMobil."
According to "Reuters", the director of the Basra Oil Company, Khaled Hamza, confirmed the offer.
