Today, Wednesday, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, called on the Financial Supervision Bureau to uncover corruption files and not be influenced by pressure.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Zamili participated today, Wednesday, in the celebration held by the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Bureau, in the presence of a number of deputies, ministers and officials."
In his speech during the celebration, Al-Zamili called on the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau and the rest of the supervisory bodies to "continue to uncover all files of corruption and waste of public money, and not to be affected by pressures," noting that "the House of Representatives is strongly supportive of the procedures followed by the supervisory authorities, and to provide all facilities that enhance her job".
And he demanded, "the need for its oversight functions to extend to all parts and departments of the state to achieve the desired reform," praising "the effective and exceptional role of the Audit Bureau."
He called for "more efforts to preserve public money, especially those related to auditing government contracts in all ministries and state institutions," stressing that "the current parliamentary session is a reform session that stands with the people, and will not allow complacency or laxity with cases of administrative and financial corruption."
He added that Parliament will work with the oversight bodies to refer those concerned to the judiciary to receive their just punishment, noting that “what is happening today in some state institutions is legitimizing corruption, and the government and regulatory institutions must take their role in developing real solutions to end the state of waste of public money, and that This stage will be a period of monitoring and accountability, in which there is no place for the corrupt.
