The State of Law coalition revealed when the candidate for the post of prime minister will be decided, considering that the matter will be resolved before the parliament session scheduled for next Wednesday.

The representative of the State of Law coalition, Thaer fearful, said that the mechanism for choosing the prime minister will be through the Shiite representatives’ vote on one of the candidates during an expanded conference, to be held during the next two days, that includes all Shiite representatives from all political blocs.

He stressed that “the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, is the most prominent among the candidates for the position of prime minister,” noting that “the State of Law coalition has 45 parliamentary seats, and therefore it will be a majority that can influence the other blocs to elect al-Maliki to be prime minister.”

The deputy from the State of Law coalition said, "Members of the Sadrist movement will not participate in the expanded Shiite conference, because of their withdrawal from the political process."
