Lawyer Hazem Al-Rudaini, Vice-President of the Strategic Center for Human Rights in Iraq, warned of the danger of the deteriorating economic situation in the country, which in turn had a direct and significant impact on the destruction of Iraqi families through an unprecedented increase in divorce rates.
Al-Diny said in a statement, "The number of divorce cases reached nearly six thousand for the month of September only, with an average of nine divorce cases every hour, and five thousand nine hundred and twenty-six divorce cases per month for the year 2022, according to the official website of the Supreme Judicial Council."
And he indicated that "the economic factor constitutes nearly fifty percent of the divorce cases, and others are due to the marriage of minors and the bad treatment of the conditions of marriage."
