The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, directed a review of the minimum wage for workers.
A statement by the Ministry of Labor stated, "The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, discussed with the Vice-President of the General Federation of Trade Unions, Rahim Al-Ghanmi, and his accompanying delegation, on Thursday, a review of the minimum wage for workers and the laws by which the federations operate."
The minister said, according to the statement, that "one of the ministry's priorities is to arrange all issues related to work, workers, unions concerned with their issues, and political partners with the ministry in this regard, and that among its tasks is to provide job opportunities for young job seekers, and reduce unemployment in proportion to the market Work
He also expressed the ministry's readiness to cooperate with the federation to establish mechanisms that regulate the work of unions, and limit the multiplicity of fake unions, which do not represent the segment of workers, pointing out that each union must have a profession that is of particular interest to it.
For its part, the federation delegation gave a detailed explanation of the federation's work, the laws it operates in, and the most important problems facing their work, calling on the Ministry of Labor to develop a unified strategy that all federations work with as it is the authority that supervises the implementation and legislation of laws, and to form a committee to amend the labor law in line with The rights of the working class, including a review of the minimum wage for workers.
