    Today, Thursday, the Basra Oil Company announced its move to sign a contract to replace the export pipeline through the port of Al-Amaya, while it revealed a plan to install new marine lines under the supervision of the  Italian company Eni.
    The assistant general manager for production affairs and national effort in the company, Basem Al-Ghalbi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the old sea pipelines,  Sealine 1 andSealine 2  , were established in 1970, and they are 48 inches in size, and are now at risk of damage that leads to loss of production.” And export, as well as calculating the value of production by foreign companies in the event of the Inability to export oil, in addition to sea water pollution in the event of damage to the pipes, so there was an urgent need to replace these two pipes.
    He pointed out, “There is a group of  Export pipe line 1 and Line 2  Export pipe of 48 inches, which are for transporting crude oil exclusively from Al-Faw to the unilateral export platforms 1, 2, 3 and 5, and they are in very excellent condition.”
    He explained, "The export pipeline through the port of Al-Amaya, which was established in 1970 and has a size of 42 inches, is currently damaged, and therefore there is a plan to replace it through the port of Al-Amaya," stressing that "the contract is currently in the process of being signed."
    He stressed, "There is a plan to install new sea lines 4  Sealine and 5  Sealine as an alternative to the old lines, under the supervision of the Italian company  Eni , operator of the Zubair oil field."
