Economist warns of the growing demand for imported food and the negative reflection on the domestic production

Follow-up - and babysit - economic expert warned Raad Twigg, the decline in the production of the domestic market of food as a result of the increasing scope of consumer goods imported.

Twigg said in a press statement, said that "the Iraqi market is exposed to attack and consumer of food is hygienically appropriate, as that imposed on imported food commodities on the market for lack of alternatives and the production of a local instance."

He referred to "the existence of a huge demand for food as a marginal propensity to consume 95%," noting that "the demand for food holds great weight of the index of consumer price in Iraq, and this represents a drain on the national wealth of Iraq."

He called Twigg, the new government to "develop a strategy for food security is applied to reduce the unemployment rate from 15% to rates of normal in the range of 5% and reduce the poverty rate the level of two-thirds and the provision of hard currency worth billions of dollars and improve the balance of payments and reduce the deficit in the public budget, and transform Iraq from the country of the consumer the food items to a producer and exporter.
