The Sudanese Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a, approved the launch of the "Hijam" recreational investment resort within the island of the same name, with an area of more than 2,500 square kilometers. The investment is the first, largest, and newest of its kind in the country.
The governor, Asaad Al-Eidani, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "The (Hijam) investment resort project, which will be built on the island of the same name, located at the entrance to Khor Al-Zubayr opposite the port of Umm Qasr in Basra, will be implemented on an area of 2580 square kilometers within it, and it will include facilities Recreational, resting places, game cities, parks and public gardens.
Commenting on the Prime Minister's agreement to refer the project for investment, he stated that this came to activate what was stated in the strategy of the government program to diversify and develop the national economy, as a strategic option to achieve sustainable development, through investment, agricultural and industrial revenues in light of the current challenges facing these countries resulting from fluctuations Oil prices.
For his part, the planning and follow-up official in Basra Governorate, Walaa Abdul Karim, stated in a statement to "Al-Sabah" that a date has been set to receive investment offers (Hijam Resort), noting that the engineering and technical committees will interact with the best investment offers aimed at transforming the tourism project into an incubating environment that attracts capital and businessmen. .
Regarding the date of the International Investment Conference, he stressed that it will be held during a period not exceeding the current month of May, and the governorate will provide full support for the success of the conference, stressing that it will contribute to informing the participating countries of the investment opportunities available to implement industrial, residential and agricultural projects.
