The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission reported, on Monday, that a new arrest warrant had been issued against the former governor of Salah al-Din for "intentionally committing something contrary to the duties of his job," indicating that the order is the fifth issued against the accused during the current year.
The department pointed out, “The judge of the Salah al-Din Investigation Court, which is specialized in examining integrity cases, issued an arrest warrant against the former governor; on the charge that he, when he was the head of the governorate’s investment commission, signed an investment license for the Malawiyya Samarra City for Sports and Swimming project, after the date of the investor’s contract.” with the Ministry of Youth.
The department added, in a statement to the Integrity Commission, that "the Salahuddin Investigation Court, which is competent to look into cases of integrity, issued an arrest warrant based on the provisions of Article (331) of the amended Penal Code No. (111 of 1969)."
And the statement continued, “It is worth noting that, during the current year, the commission announced the issuance of four arrest warrants against the accused for deliberately committing a violation of his job duties, with the intent to harm the interest of the state, and for violating his job duties, pointing out that these orders were issued based on the provisions of the two articles.” (331 and 340) of the Penal Code.
