Washington took advantage of the high temperatures and the increase in energy demand to stand as a stumbling block in the way of the peace of the people who demanded a solution to the electricity crisis as soon as possible, as this malicious step comes in an attempt to inflame the street against the government and create tensions inside Iraq.
"The Ministry of Electricity has achieved the highest energy production, at a rate of 26,000 megawatts," Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel said in a press statement followed by Al-Maalouma.
He added, "The decrease in supply rates came due to the interruption of more than half of the gas imported from Iran from the production stations, which caused the loss of 5,000 megawatts, in addition to the loss of 1,000 megawatts from the interconnection lines, which were also shut down due to late payment of dues."

The minister pointed out that large discussions have been held with the Iranian side in the coming days regarding this, "and he expressed his hope that" Tehran will understand the situation of the system and the rise in temperatures and return the quantities of supplied gas, especially the Ministry of Electricity that paid the debts in full, but the issues related to the TBI Bank due to the US sanctions Prevent transfer of funds.
On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the Jihad and Construction Movement, Jawad Rahim Al-Saadi, told Al-Maalouma that “Iraq has become a prisoner of America, which is working to inflame the street against the government, especially since the general public suffers from power outages for long hours due to the American embargo and the inability to deliver Gas money for the exporting country.
He added, "The American policy is no longer a secret to anyone, as it is trying to stand against Iraq, its people and its government and inflame the situation, despite the fact that the government for the first time clearly states and reveals the real cause of the electricity crisis, and therefore it has absolved itself of its responsibility before the people who demand their disclosure by the government." ".

On the other hand, a member of the House of Representatives, Mahma Khalil, told Al-Maalouma that "Iraq has fulfilled all its international obligations, and Washington must not involve the electricity file in the aspect of Iraq's international relations with the neighboring country."
And Khalil added: "The electricity file embarrassed all governments in conjunction with peak times in the summer," noting that "the Ministry of Electricity committed itself with the Federal Bank and the Iranian government to pay the debts incurred by Iraq in order not to face the power outage crisis this summer." ended 25 n
