The Parliamentary Investment Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that Iraq is witnessing for the first time the opening of bids for new residential cities, while indicating that these cities are comparable to what exists in England and Germany.
Member of the committee, Representative Ali Al-Moussawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "Iraq is witnessing today a qualitative leap in investment after opening bids to establish new residential cities," noting that "opening bids for these cities takes place for the first time in Iraq."
He added, "These cities are comparable to what exists in England and Germany, as these two countries are pioneers in that," noting that "this is a new opportunity for the Iraqi people, where the citizen can own a housing unit."
Yesterday, Monday, the Minister of Construction, Housing and Municipalities, Bankin Rikani, announced the opening of bids for 5 new residential cities in the governorates (Baghdad, Holy Karbala, Anbar, Nineveh, and Babel), while noting that these cities will include units for people with special needs.
