The Office of Financial Supervision announced that the Ministry of Transport has waived 35% of the revenues of the General Company for Iraqi Ports in favor of the Khairat Al-Sibtain Company, affiliated with the Imam Hussein Shrine. 
The Bureau said in a report on the joint operating contract for Berth 6 in the southern port of Umm Qasr, which Al-Eqtisad News reviewed, that the contract was referred to Khairat Al-Sibtain Trading, Contracting and Investment Company in accordance with Board of Directors Resolution No. 271 on 9/21/2015 and approved by On September 22, 2015, the former Minister of Transport accepted the approval of the only request submitted by the aforementioned company, “the absence of the principle of competition,” even though the Board of Directors is not the body legally authorized to make the referral, which is the responsibility of the referral committee after the study and analysis of several submitted bids has been completed to choose the best of them in violation. Khairat Al-Sibtain Company, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Hussein, announced the operation of Berth No. 6 in the southern port of Umm Qasr, in the presence of a number of officials from the company and the Holy Shrine, the Assistant General Director of the Ports Company, the director of the northern and southern ports of Umm Qasr, and a group of officials from customs, as well as joint operating companies and companies.
