    {Local: Al-Furat News} The Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission announced the implementation of an arrest warrant against the president of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Iraq and his arrest pending investigation, for intentionally causing harm to the funds and interests of the entity in which he works and is connected to by virtue of his job.
    The Integrity Department, speaking about the arrest warrant in the case that the Commission was responsible for uncovering, investigating, and referring to the judiciary, stated that the arrest warrant had been executed against the convicts, the president of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Iraq and two members of the executive office of the federation. Because they committed violations, bargaining, and bribes in the contract for the purchase and furnishing of the Union building in Diyala, noting that the President of the Union surrendered himself and presented him to the competent judge, who decided to arrest him pending investigation. 
    The department added that the details of the case include fixing the purchase and furnishing price of the Union Building in Diyala in the purchase contract at two billion and 407 million dinars, while the real purchase value amounted to only 235 million dinars, pointing out that the arrest warrant was executed; Based on a judicial memorandum issued by a judge in the Baqubah Investigation Court, which is competent to consider integrity issues; Based on the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.
    It is worth noting that the Integrity Commission announced early last September that it had uncovered the embezzlement of more than two billion dinars, after manipulating the estimate of the value of the property, which was purchased by the Federation of Trade Unions in Diyala.
