[rtl]The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stressed that the position of the supreme religious authority, Ali al-Sistani, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani “affirms the right of the Palestinian people to resist” against the Israeli occupation.[/rtl]
[rtl]The leader of the Hamas movement (Osama Hamdan) said during his visit to the capital, Baghdad, and his meeting with a number of leaders of the “resistance factions” there, that “the position of Mr. Al-Sistani and the head of the Iraqi government emphasizes the right of the Palestinian people to resist.” He stated, "Iraq stood by the Palestinian cause during the Al-Aqsa flood, with its people, its politicians, and its authority."[/rtl]
[rtl]Hamdan stressed, “The resistance factions in Iraq have confirmed that any American intervention will be met with action from them, and we look forward to an Iraqi role in the Palestinian issue.”[/rtl]
