{Local: Al-Furat News} Iraqi Airways announced the resumption of direct flights between Iraq and Germany, as the first flight on a flight route that included Baghdad, Erbil, and Berlin began today, Friday.
The Director General of the Airlines, Manaf Abdel Moneim, said in a statement to the company, a copy of which was received by {Al-Furat News}, that “this step falls within the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, regarding the necessity of increasing the number of destinations for the national carrier, in line with government directives to open up to various countries of the world.”
He added, "The Berlin destination is one of five destinations in Europe to which the company has restored direct flights through joint operation, which are Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, and Copenhagen, with seven flights per week."
