    The Organized Crime Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior confirmed today, Wednesday, the existence of coordination with the Kurdistan Region to implement judicial decisions against those accused of crimes, including crimes of manipulation and foreign currency speculation. While it identified those arrested since last March, it confirmed the adoption of modern methods by its Technology Directorate to reach them, including Obtaining accurate evidence and arresting the accused quickly .
    The director of operations in the directorate, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Tamimi, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the Organized Crime Directorate was able, from the middle of last March until the first of last October, to arrest 150 accused manipulators and speculators.” They had large sums of money in their possession, amounting to more than six million US dollars and more than 4 billion Iraqi dinars .”
    He added, "These operations were launched after a directive from the Prime Minister and the Central Bank that there be follow-up, prosecution, and inspections in implementation of judicial decisions and through joint detachments between the Directorate of Organized Crime and the Central Bank. Our Directorate is a law enforcement agency, and the one responsible for this file is the Central Bank. "
    He continued, "The seizure operations were carried out through the renewal of the work of the controls, as well as through mobile detachments in Baghdad and the governorates, and in coordination with all sectors of the Ministry of Interior, specifically the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency ."
    Regarding cooperation with the region in controlling smuggling networks between Al-Tamimi, “There is cooperation and coordination through the application of judicial decisions in the event of confessions received against people who are located within the provinces of the region, and coordination is carried out through its coordinators, which include representatives from the Ministry of Interior with their counterparts in the Kurdistan region. ”
    He continued, "This cooperation has resulted in the implementation of operations, and the Interior Ministry is coordinating with all governorates to implement judicial orders from northern to southern Iraq, supported by an intelligence effort represented by the Directorate of Technologies, which tracks people by monitoring their phones and emails and determining their exact whereabouts through modern technologies. This gave accuracy." And speed that does not accept any doubt or error in seizing evidence and carrying out operations against the perpetrators of organized crimes .”
    Al-Tamimi stressed, “There is great cooperation from citizens to report cases that raise suspicion via the hotline 144, as well as cooperation in implementing the government’s directives in the campaign to support the Iraqi dinar and adopt it exclusively in transactions instead of the dollar. There is an educational campaign that includes television programs and hosting and the placement of billboards and posters in the streets.” Through the detachments of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime .”
