On Sunday, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals set the date for removing the projectiles from the Nebras Petrochemical Project site, while indicating that an upcoming meeting would be held to establish a final mechanism for equipping the Nebras Petrochemical Project with gas.
The Ministry’s spokeswoman, Doha Al-Jubouri, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Eqtisad News, that “the Ministry has begun the start of the Nebras Petrochemical Project, where 6 title deeds were issued for plots of land,” indicating that “these lands belong to the Ministries of Finance and Transport.” Today, it has become the property of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers for the purpose of establishing the project.”
She explained, "The operations to remove projectiles and mines and quality control work are still continuing at the site, in order to ensure that they are completely empty," noting that "it is hoped that the process of removing the projectiles will be completed within three months and thus a certificate will be issued in this regard."
She added, “Numerous meetings were held with the representative of Shell in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, and the Ministry of Transport’s proposals regarding gas processing were discussed,” stressing, “Two committees will be formed in this regard, and during the month of next January, according to the Prime Minister’s directives, a meeting will be held for the purpose of establishing a final mechanism for the issue.” Preparing gas for the Nebras Petrochemical Project.
