Security and judicial cooperation to deter electronic blackmail

The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, yesterday, Monday, pointed out the existence of security and judicial cooperation to deter cases of electronic blackmail, calling on citizens who are subjected to blackmail to review the competent institutions. Al-Muayyad told the Iraqi News Agency “INA”: “There is continuous monitoring by the competent authority’s departments for cases of electronic blackmail,” indicating that “there is great coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council and specialized security institutions, and then communication is made with the platforms for the purpose of treatment according to our regulatory frameworks.” ". He added, "The issue of electronic blackmail needs social education and fortification," calling on citizens who are exposed to blackmail to "disclose this to the competent institutions for the purpose of deterrence and treatment." He pointed out that "the optimal use of social networking sites requires a collective social will to reject all that is bad, not to rely on rumors and biased agendas, and to help those with purposeful content grow and advance."
