Twilight News / Prosecutor confirmed in the presidency to resume Rusafa Court on Thursday that the court of money laundering crime is competent to consider the private banks irregularities, pointing to the existence of a misunderstanding by some as the prerogative of the Integrity Commission.
The prosecutor said the judge Haidar Hisham, in a statement, the judiciary responded to the Twilight News, said that "money laundering and economic crime court is competent to hear claims of violations of the private banks."
Hisham said that "the judiciary succeeded in retrieving large amounts of money more than a down payment on this level," pointing out that "there is a misunderstanding of the fact that some people believe that dealing with these issues from the jurisdiction of the Commission on Public Integrity, which is not true."
Prosecutor reported that "the first article of the Integrity Commission Act No. 30 of 2011 identified limited to crimes which they are dedicated, not including money laundering."
He stressed that "the representatives of the judiciary, the Court of money laundering, leads with the relevant authorities a large role in the accounting and pursue the sale of currency by the central bank window and shares in the monitoring of many irregularities and addressed once and for all."
Hisham pointed out that "money laundering is about a year of modern crimes, and the international community has a special discourse with them, including the Iraqi judiciary through specialized court."
